Leonid Parfenov Sacked from NTV
June 2, NTV company’s press service reported of dismissal of Namedny host Leonid Parfenov.
Leonid Parfenov was fired because of “violating production and corporate relations.”
Commenting on closing Namedni and dismissal of its author, NTV General Manager Nikolai Senkevich stressed that the journalist “did not support the company’s policy.” “Leonid Parfenov is no doubt one of the most talented journalists on Russian television now,” Senkevich said. “But this was not the first incident, that’s why we had to take this decision,” – he added. “The company will fulfill its obligations to the former worker according to the contract,” RIA Novosti quotes Senkevich as saying.
