The Victory Price Tag
Despite enormous interest of audience towards the latest sport competitions, Video International hasn’t hiked advertising prices for Olympic broadcasting. The price list for advertising on Channel One and Rossia TV channels sets forth the increase of no more than 5 percent vs the average cost. Olympic advertising will be even cheaper, the agencies calculated.
A special list of Video International sets forth the prices for advertising in time of Beijing Olympics broadcasting (August 8 to 24) on Channel One and Rossia. The Channel One GRP stands at 82,000 ruble, Rossia has 64,500 ruble and Sport TV Channel will be selling Olympic ads independently.

According to preliminary data, Rossia will broadcast Olympic events up to four hours a day, while the Sport Channel will cover them almost around-the-clock. Similar to Rossia, Channel One plans to provide four hours for this purpose.

Olympic prices are roughly 5 percent above the August ad costs on Channel One and Rossia, representatives of Video International said. The agencies, however, calculated that, given the discount for inner sport broadcasting, the clients will pay at least a third less than for other programs on Channel One and Rossia in August. The reason is that not all Olympic events equal football in popularity and the rating depends on success of Russia’s athletes.
