Govt to Contribute Stakes in 400 Enterprises to Rostekhnologii
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev sealed a ruling on establishment of Rostekhnologii stock capital. Headed by Sergei Chemezov, a new giant will get the state-run stakes in over 400 enterprises. A portion of them will be sold in the next move.
It was Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov that announced Friday that the president had sealed the ruling on the government’s contribution to Rostekhnologii. Sergei Chemezov confirmed the information Saturday. The official needed more than half a year to win the president’s signature and was forced to make some concessions to build up the wealth of the corporation.

The final list sets forth more than 400 names of the enterprises to be transferred to Rostekhnologii, and defense enterprises account for roughly 80 percent of them. Afterwards, all enterprises will be united in more than 30 holdings. The corporation will cost dozens of billion dollars, representatives of Economic Development Ministry said. Only the capitalization of AvtoVAZ, KamAZ and VSMPO-Avisma will ensure the cost of billions. The RTS value of the trio neared $10 billion Friday.

Under the creation terms, the corporation may “restructure organizations of civil industries,” and place (sell) stocks of the holding structures and of certain enterprises. “There is no need to keep all number that is being transferred today. Some portion could be sold, of course,” Chemezov said Saturday without giving the names of enterprises he had picked for disposal.
