Nemiroff to Bottle 3 Brands in Russia
GK Nemiroff sealed an agreement to bottle three of its brands at Yaroslavsky distillery that is controlled by Rosspirtprom. Nowadays, all three leaders of Ukrainian alcohol market - Soyuz-Viktan, Image Holding (TM Khortitsa) and Nemiroff – bottle the vodka in Russia. In its letters to distributors, Nemiroff says that the retail price will be 100 rubles to 110 rubles per a half-liter vs. today’s 130 rubles and 140 rubles.
The news that Nemiroff will start bottling its brands at Yaroslavsky distillery (federal-controlled Rosspirtprom manages 51 percent) was reported by a top manager of a big alcohol holding. Nemiroff CEO Alexander Glus confirmed that three brands, Nemiroff Rzhanaya Ukrainskaya Otbornaya (Nemiroff Rye Ukrainian Selected), Nemiroff Pshenitsa Ukrainskaya Otbornaya (Nemiroff Wheat Ukrainian Selected) and Nemirovskaya Osobaya, will be produced in Yaroslavl.

The agreement on contract production was inked in April and bottling will begin in early June to reach the monthly capacity of 250,000 bottles to 300,000 bottles by the fall season, which corresponds to the current imports of these brands, Glus specified.

The round bottles will be no longer imported from Ukraine once the target capacity is attained. Only the shtof bottles will be delivered.

Under the company’s estimate, Nemiroff sold 3.5 million decaliters worth $285 million in Russia past year. The distribution will be coordinated by Trading House Nemiroff (THN), Glus said. According to Federal Customs Service, THN is the biggest strong drink importer to Russia and it accounted for 16.6 percent of all imports in kind in January through March. Its closest rival Trading House Megapolis had just 12.2 percent.
