President Eased Small Business Life
Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev chaired May 14, 2008 a meeting dedicated to entrepreneurship development. Quite a few decisions made at that get-together of the country leaders appear truly vital for the small business.
Spokesmen of small business community requested Medvedev to lift excessive administrative barriers a month ago, when the State Council Presidium met in Tobolsk-town of Russia. Their hopes materialized yesterday, when the new president announced the intention to seal a decree solving the better part of the voiced problems in the afternoon and inked the document later that day.

Apart from the address speech of the president, the yesterday’s event was closed for the media. The problems of the business represented by Opora Rossii President Sergei Borisov and Delovaya Rossia (Business Russia) Chairman Boris Titov were approached by First Vice Premier Igor Shuvalov, Vice Premier Alexander Zhukov, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, President’s Aid Larisa Brycheva and President’s Aid Arkady Dvorkovich.

Some of the difficulties that the top-ranked bureaucrats managed to sort out during their get-together appear truly vital. The matter at stake is cancelling the requirement for mandatory use of cash registers by the payers of temporarily tax, sanctioning any extraordinary inspections of small business by prosecutors and authorizing the regions to independently control privatization of dwellings occupied by small firms.
