Russia’s Foreign Ministry Stunned by Imagination of Saakashvili
After a long and shocked silence, the RF Foreign Ministry rebuffed allegations of Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in part of bringing Russia’s troops and military hardware to Abkhazia. The Georgian leader “has submerged into virtual world,” fantasizing about Russia-Georgian relations in the manner of Yan Fleming, Russia’s diplomats commented. Meanwhile, Saakashvili pledges to submit real evidences that Russia is plotting an attack on Georgia.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry needed three days to shape a response to Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili. This week, Saakashvili twice accused Moscow of preparing military conflict in Georgia aimed at Abkhazia's separation. The comments of Russia’s diplomats appeared on the ministry’s official web only late yesterday. Their style was most unusual for the documents of such kind.
After informing the public at large that the UN special patrol inspected respective regions of Abkhazia and found no traces of military machinery there, the diplomats concluded that Saakashvili “doesn’t care about facts.” “He appears to have finally submerged into a certain virtual world, where nothing prevents him from imagining the most appalling threats and dangers to fight them heroically. These fantasies in the Yan Fleming manner would be beneath notice but for the maniac aspiration to involve the entire society of Georgia in them.”
Tbilisi hasn’t responded yet. There, they are getting ready to prove by documents that Russia has amassed troops in Abkhazia. Besides, Saakashvili needs time and efforts to prepare for early presidential elections slated for January 5, 2008.
