Donald Trump to Approach Russia’s Market
Attracted by booming market of premium vodka that widens 25 percent each year in Russia, Drinks Americas Holdings (DKAM) is launching its Trump vodka named after billionaire Donald Trump. But so far, the image foreign vodka, which bottle costs above $50, has always lost to cheaper analog of Russia’s make.
Recolte will be Trump’s exclusive distributor in Russia and the first deliveries will start in the nearest two months. Recolte is a new project of Alexander Timofeev, former general director of Kristall distillery and today’s owner of Trade Asset Management Company. Exactly the latter set up Recolte in October.
The 2008 deliveries are forecasted at 30,000 decaliters, Timofeev said, specifying that it will cost a bit higher than in the United States and Europe, where the retail price for a bottle of 0.5 liter ranges from $35 to $40.
Drinks Americas Holdings was set up in 2004. It distributes alcohol and non-alcohol beverages of the premium class – whiskey (Willie Nelson`s Old, Whiskey River Bourbon), beer (Rheingold), saki (Roy Yamaguchi`s Y). In late 2005, the company entered into a license agreement with Trump Organization for using the name of the billionaire to produce and promote premium vodka bearing the name Trump. The market capitalization is $33.34 million.
