The increased concern of Federal Tax Service about additional income of individuals has yielded the fruit. In the first seven months of this year, the individuals paid 3.5 fold more in taxes from additional revenues than they did over the whole 2006.
Federal Tax Service has tallied up interim results of its control over the tax paid from additional income of individuals generated from selling flats, cars or leasing out houses and the like. As many as 803,000 filled in the returns in the first seven months of 2007, which is 1.8 fold above the number of persons attracted during the whole 2006. Notified about their tax liabilities, the individuals are to pay 2.4 billion rubles in addition, that is nearly three fold above the amount paid during the whole 2006.
To be more precise, the individuals will have to pay 1.1 billion rubles (332 million rubles) in taxes charged from the real estate sale, 253 million rubles (57 million rubles) for selling cars and 169 million rubles (79 million rubles) for leasing out houses and flats. What’s more, 590 million rubles will be ensured by the so-called under-the-table wages paid to constructors, salesmen or governesses.
Tax officers attribute the success to the thorough use of the information both from internal and external sources. One of them is the persons applying for deductions of property taxes. By doing it, they actually report to tax officers about the persons that have sold their flats. The impact of voluntary informers is also significant. Thanks to 258,000 informers, Federal Tax Service revealed 112,000 renters that have evaded paying taxes from real estate revenues.
