The President Pravda
For the first time, President Vladimir Putin has allowed to use his image for business purposes. Along with United Russia members – gymnast Svetlana Khorkina and singer Nikolay Rastorguev – Putin takes part in the advert campaign of the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid, Russia's biggest circulation newspaper. The market analysts call this decision of president knock-out for competitors.
Russia’s most popular tabloid, Komsomolskaya Pravda, has launched its TV and billboard promotion under the slogan “Newspaper Read by All!” One of three identities of the campaign is President Vladimir Putin. Accompanied by “Driving to Work, Reading Komsomolka!” quotation, his photo could be seen on the posters along with two members of United Russia – gymnast star Svetlana Khorkina and Lyube soloist Nikolay Rastorguev.

Komsomolka has obtained the official sanction to advertise by president’s image. “Driving to work, reading Komsomolka!” Putin announced during one of the press conferences, prompting the newspaper’s leadership to address his administration for the permit to use the quotation in the advertising campaign. The positive answer was given in three or two weeks, said Vladimir Sungorkin, general director of Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House.

Vladimir Putin promotes Komsomolka absolutely free of charge, same as Nikolay Rastorguev and Svetlana Khorkina. The budget of advertising is $1 million. “For an All-Russia’s campaign, the amount is moderate,” said Twiga Vice President Karina Orandzhanyan.
