Landslide Predicted to United Russia
The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) distributed on Friday its first prognosis of the outcome of the upcoming parliamentary election in Russia. VCIOM predicts a landslide to United Russia. According to the prognosis, the party will gain 257 seats in the next State Duma. VCIOM believes that Communists, Fair Russia, and the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) will also have their factions in the State Duma.
The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) distributed on Friday its first prognosis of the outcome of the upcoming parliamentary election in Russia. VCIOM predicts that between 45 and 56 percent of Russians will come to vote. According to the prognosis, the same four leading parties will have their factions in the next State Duma.

VCIOM gives the following prognosis: United Russia – 47.7 percent, the Communist Party – 14.9 percent, Fair Russia – 11.7 percent, the LDPR – 8.8 percent; the SPS – 4.4 percent, Yabloko – 2.6 percent, the Agrarian Party – 2.6 percent, and Patriots of Russia – 1.9 percent.

VCIOM thinks that United Russia will have 257 seats in the State Duma (they now have 303). For adopting federal laws, 226 votes are enough. However, United Russia will no longer be able to independently pass constitutional laws, because at least 300 votes are necessary for it.
