Like a Mazda
One of the Moscow biggest car dealers, Elex-Polus, has made the second attempt to anchor in the segment of Chinese cars, which growth is skyrocketing today. After the failure with China’s Geely, the dealer found new partners that produce Tianma pickups and Haima3 sedans. Haima3 is the Mazda3 analogue.
In early August, Elex-Polus inked an agreement with China’s manufacturer of Tianmas for their supplies to Russia, said Alexey Sorokin, who is in charge of Chinese business of the company. The framework agreement with Haima maker will be concluded during the Interavto Motor Show held in Moscow August 30 to September 3.
The first consignment of Tianmas has been ordered in China. The jeeps will appear in show rooms of Elex-Polus and of other dealers already in November, Sorokin pointed out. The price will start from $15,000 and Elex intends to sell 7,000 next year.
The terms for Haima sales will be negotiated during the motor show. Presumably, the contract will provide for Family and Haima3 sedans, which cost $14,000. Elex-Polus is currently in talks with Russia’s plants to assemble Haimas here, said top manager of a big car dealer.
Elex-Polus is the subsidiary of Russia’s automobile giant AvtoVAZ, owning 51 percent in it, while the remainder belongs to Elex-Polus General Director Igor Lisyutin. 2006 sales reached 60,000 cars.
