Business Achievements of MAKS-2007
In addition to stunning performance of Russia’s aircraft during the MAKS-2007 international air show that is currently held in Zhukovsky, outside Moscow, another achievement of the event is the business contracts sealed in its course.
Sagem Defance Securite (part of Safran) and Ramenskoe Instrument Making Design Bureau entered into an intention agreement to create a joint venture. Once emerged, the firm will focus on customization, joint production, sale and maintenance of innovative international navigation systems for Russia’s and global aircraft programs.
Volga-Dnepr Group agreed with Ukrainian Motor Sich and Antonov ANTK to revive serial production and to upgrade An-124-100M-150 aircraft fleet. The parties said they would step up the fleet of upgraded planes and order 17 new An-124s at Ukrainian Aviant and Ulyanovsk Aviastar.
Hungarian Aeroplex and Russia’s AiRUnion concluded a partnership agreement. Aeroplex will provide maintenance for Boeings owned by AiRUnion and the maintenance centers of Hungarian company will emerge in Moscow Domodedovo and Krasnoyarsk airports.
Perm Motors clinched a deal with Azerbaijan’s Silk Way Airlines to deliver five PS-90A-76 engines for Il-76 aircraft.
Ilyushin Finance Co. (IFC) and Iran Air Tour made contracts for delivery of five Tu-204-100s for the total worth of over $200 million starting from 2009. IFC and Cuba’s Aviaimport S.A. inked the memorandum for supplying two Òó-204s and three An-148s for Cubana De Aviacion in 2008 to 2011. The deal budget exceeds $150 million.
U.S. Alcoa entered into the technological cooperation agreement with United Aircraft Construction Corp. of Russia.
Russian MiG Aircraft Construction Corp. and Indo Russian Aerospace Ltd (IRAL) made a contract to set up in India warehouses for MiG spares. MiG also clinched deals with Kazakhstan and Poland.
Sukhoil Holding and its subsidiary Sukhoi Civil Aircraft agreed with Italian Alenia Aeronautica to create a joint venture, Superjet International, that will sell and provide after-sale maintenance to Sukhoi SuperJet 100. Alenia will get 51 percent in the firm, which headquarters will be located in Venice.
Russian Federal Aviation Agency (Rosaviatsia) and United Aircraft Construction Corp. (UAC) inked an understanding memorandum to train aircraft personnel.
