Moscow Ahead of London and Paris

Moscow hoteliers are luckier than their colleagues from other European capitals. According to the data published by TRI Hospitality Consulting international agency, each hotel room in Moscow brought to its owner €149 of net profit, which is by €36 more than in London, rated second, in the first half of 2007. TRI believes the Russian capital became the leader due to low expenses on payment for labor.
TRI Hospitality Consulting published the results of its survey of the hotel business profits in largest European capitals in the first half of 2007. The European capitals were ranked according to the IBFC (income before fixed charges) index.
The IBFC reached €149 in Moscow, which is by 22.4 percent more than in the first semester of 2006. London is the second in the rating (€113.72), and Paris is the third (€86.23).
TRI believes the Russian capital became the leader due to low expenses on payment for labor. Payments to employees in Moscow do not exceed 20 percent of the turnover, while they make up 37.9 percent in Paris.
