Vladimir Bukovsky Ready for Presidential Campaign
// He already has a Russian passport
Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky, who now lives in Great Britain, obtained a Russian passport on Friday. In May, the initiative group named him as a potential candidate for the 2008 presidential election in Russia. Bukovsky said he intends to come to the country in autumn, so as to discuss his participation in the election with the opposition leaders.
Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky, deported in 1976, received on Friday a new passport of a Russian citizen in Great Britain, where he now resides. Bukovsky said he is now going to come to Russia in late September-early October.

Bukovsky, whom the initiative group named him as a potential candidate for the 2008 presidential election in Russia, wants to discuss his role with the Russian opposition leaders, United Civil Front head Garry Kasparov and Yabloko leader Grigory Yavlinsky.

Bukovsky said he is not going to ask Russian tycoons living in London to finance his campaign. He said he would like the Russian population to make contributions to his campaign fund.
