Lennox Lewis Expects Offer
// British heavyweight boxer might return to the ring for the sake of a match against Vitaly Klitschko
Honorary WBC Champion Vitaly Klitschko, who will resume on September 22nd his boxing career after a two-year break, confirmed on Monday that another outstanding heavyweight boxer, Lennox Lewis, is interested in a match against him. The match can take place already in 2008, if the famous Ukrainian manages to win back the world champion title.
Honorary WBC Champion Vitaly Klitschko of Ukraine said he had talked to Lennox Lewis of Britain to discuss the possibility of their match. Lewis is the last heavyweight boxer to have held the absolute world champion’s title.

Klitschko said that Lewis, who ended his career in early 2004, is ready to return to the ring for the sake of a match against Klitschko, if he receives “an offer which satisfies him financially”. The Ukrainian boxer believes the match against Lewis is quite possible: “If I become the world champion, the leading TV channels will make that offer.”

However, Klitschko said that he considers himself able to complete that task, despite the nearly-two-year break in his career. “I will personally answer to everyone concerning the shape I’m in now, on September 22nd,” the Ukrainian boxer said.
