Deputies Get Ready for Autumn Session
// The government does not give them a subject for discussion
Russia’s State Duma began compiling the plan of legislative activities for the autumn session. So far, the largest part of the documents is the government’s bills, which do not require significant changes to the law. Apparently, the most important draft is the anti-raider package prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development.
The State Duma is now approving the general plan of legislative activities, the plan for the Duma committees, and the program of top-priority draft laws. This procedure takes place at the beginning of each parliamentary session.

Apparently, the most important draft is the anti-raider package prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development. The draft, to be adopted in the second reading in November, will simplify the ways to solve corporate conflicts.

The upcoming Duma session might prove to be just “technical”, although bright, because there are no big draft laws from the government. The factions in the Duma will definitely use the last pre-election weeks for unusual initiatives. Yet, it will be a new Duma to discuss those bills, considering the long time it takes the government to discuss them.
