Adidas and Audi Unwilling to Sponsor Cycling
// Scandals
Adidas and Audi companies consider giving up the sponsor support of cycling. Adidas is the official outfitter of the German and French cycling federations. Audi provides cars for Tour de France.
Adidas and Audi decided to sponsor cycling no longer. Both companies explained their decision to give up sponsoring by the non-ceasing doping scandals in the cycling sport. The last drop that made the cup run over was the scandal with T-Mobile team’s German racer Patrick Sinkevich. The test, taken from him after Tour de France’s eighth stage, showed a high concentration of testosterone.

Adidas is now waiting for the results of the second test. If it also proves positive, the company will stop sponsoring cycling. Audi cannot tell yet when any specific decisions will be made.

German TV channels ARD and ZDF have earlier stopped live broadcasting of Tour de France, the reason for it being the same positive test of Sinkevich.
