Vladimir Klitschko to Fight Most Important Match in his Career
Ukrainian IBF Heavyweight boxing champion Vladimir Klitschko will defend his IBF and IBO world heavyweight title against Lamon Brewster of the U.S. on Saturday July 7, 2007, in Cologne. So, Klitschko will have a chance to take revenge for the most insulting defeat in his career 3 years ago.
Ukrainian boxer Vladimir Klitschko will defend his IBF and IBO world heavyweight title against U.S. Lamon Brewster in their Rematch in Cologne this Saturday. Both rivals still remember the match 3 years ago, on April 10, 2004, in Las Vegas, when Klitschko lost after a suspiciously unexpected knockout.
The Ukrainian has made tremendous progress since that match. According to modern standards, 31-year-old Klitschko is a perfect heavyweight boxer. He is over 2 meters high, his strike power is enormous, and he has the skill of keeping the opponent at a convenient distance.
Klitschko is stronger than his rival in all aspects: physically (the Ukrainian was 110.5 kilograms at the weigh-in on Friday, while the American was just 103.5 kilograms); professionally (Brewster did not fight for almost 1.5 years). Moreover, they will now fight in Germany, where Klitschko brothers are very popular. Yet, there is something in the current situation slightly reminiscent of that 3 years ago in Las Vegas.
