Nikolai Davydenko to Speed Up

Nikolai Davydenko defeated Tommy Robredo in three sets, winning his way into Masters semifinals in Rome, where he is to face second-ranked Rafael Nadal. Svetlana Kuznetsova reached semifinals of the German Open in Berlin. Unfortunately, she had to knock Nadezhda Petrova out of the tournament.
Nikolai Davydenko had to make considerable efforts to advance to the semifinals. He played against Marat Safin in his first match. The next rival was Potito Starace, playing against who was not easy either.
Davydenko played against Tommy Robredo on Friday, and the match was one of the hardest for the Russian player. He managed to win only one game in the first set. However, Davydenko took control of the match in the beginning of the second set.
A very challenging rival awaits Davydenko in the semifinals: the world’s second Rafael Nadal. The Spanish player has a winning streak on clay of 75 matches, and his playing style looks like it will be hard for anyone to defeat him.
Svetlana Kuznetsova made it to the Berlin Open semifinals, beating her compatriot Nadezhda Petrova. Kuznetsova will now play against Ana Ivanovic, who defeated Patty Schneider.
