Bosco Sport Crushed Miroff Sport in Final
Bosco Sport of Mikhail Kusnirovich will continue providing the uniform for Olympic squad of Russia. But the budget of its new contracts with Olympic Committee of Russia (OCR) exceeds $18.5 million, nearly three fold above the initial offer.
The yesterday’s decision to continue cooperation with Bosco Sport for another two Olympic cycles (Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010) was unanimous, said OCR President Leonid Tyagachev. To win this right, Bosco Sport had to overwhelm Miroff Sport (owned by Nemiroff vodka producer of Ukraine) at the final stage of competition.

According to a source with OCR, Miroff offered $15 million for Olympic contract, while Bosco Sport’s bid amounted to $11 million. But Kusnirovich said he had offered not $11 million but $14.3 million, and the final budget of all contracts was even bigger than that. The amount of all contracts of Bosco Sport and OCR, including sponsor contracts (uniform), license agreements (Olympic emblems on Bosco product) and charitable agreements (parade uniform), reached $18.5 million.

Bosco Sport and China’s Lining offered just $6.5 million and $6 million respectively for the contracts at the initial stage. But the budget went up once the third bidder, Nemiroff, joined the competition via its Miroff Sport undertaking. Of interest is that Nemiroff denies any participation in the tender, saying Miroff Sport doesn’t relate to it.
