The company was let down by shady partners
Russia’s Interior Ministry began a new investigation related to the major Russian retailer Evroset holding. A criminal case was initiated against the head of Iled M company on tax evasion charges. Iled M supplied cell phones and their accessories for 7.2 billion roubles to Evroset in 2004-2005. Chairman of Evroset holding’s board Evgeny Chichvarkin was Iled M’s cofounder at the time when the shady deals were being closed. Evroset claims that it was let down by “shady suppliers”.
In one and a half year’s period between January 2004 and May 2005, Iled M company supplied cell phones and their accessories for over 7.2 billion roubles to various subdivisions of Evroset holding. Chairman of Evroset holding’s board Evgeny Chichvarkin was Iled M’s cofounder at that time.
The supplier was buying cell phones from four companies: Megapolis, Alyans Servis, Tekhnokor, and Torginvest. The police discovered that all four companies were registered at lost passports. They found the four people on whose behalf as ‘directors general’ the deals had been closed. Those people gave testimony that they had never headed the above-mentioned companies, had never heard of them, and never signed any deals.
Besides, the police suspects the suppliers of tax evasion in especially large amounts. A criminal case was initiated against Iled M head Dmitry Sidorov. The investigation might affect Iled M’s chief customer Evroset holding, despite that Evgeny Chichvarkin resigned from Iled M’s cofounders in 2006.
