Russia Eager to Host Europe Football Championship
Russian Football Union (RFU) is eager to hold the Europe Championship, RFU Chief Vitaly Mutko said at the yesterday’s conference of the organization.
“Now, we are planning to focus on filing a bid for hosting the final championship of Europe in 2016,” Mutko said. “The work done past year on the international level was enormous. Russia is represented by 11 persons in the UEFA committees and commissions compared to three persons earlier. We held the world championship of girls no older than 20 years.”
Mutko also reported about the 2006 activities of RFU at the conference. “We are satisfied with the way the conference goes,” Mutko pointed out. “It is vital to have such event once a year. Making the conference more efficient will take time, of course."
"But one cannot but mention that delegates and guests were provided with complete report on the RFU activities, including the financial one. I can say the RFU budget is absolutely transparent. Past year, 1.5 billion rubles was invested in football development in Russia,” Mutko said.
