// Mikhail Fradkov held the first session of the ‘tuned’ government
Russian Government yesterday held the first session attended by four deputy prime ministers, two of which are first deputy premiers. Mikhail Fradkov gave orders immediately to newly appointed Sergei Ivanov, Sergei Naryshkin, and also to Dmitry Medvedev.
Russian Cabinet of Ministers held its first session since the reshufflement made by President Vladimir Putin the evening before. Sergei Ivanov was appointed first deputy prime minister, Sergei Naryshkin became deputy prime minister, and Anatoly Serdyukov became the new minister of defense.
The Cabinet discussed the project of measures for the labor market till 2010 with the Minister of Health and Social Development, the plan of housing-maintenance reforms, and listened to the report of Internal Affairs Minister Rashid Nurgaliev on preventing crime.
Eventually, Fradkov offered the pre-planned solutions: the labor market project was sent for a follow-up revision till May 2007, housing-maintenance reforms are to be reworked as well, and Nurgaliev received the promise that Fradkov will create a governmental committee for crime prevention.
