Diamond Front
// Yakutia’s president ousted his successor from ALROSA
Alexander Nichiporuk leaves the post of the president of ALROSA company (25 percent of world diamond extraction). Nichiporuk completed the task set by the federal center: he returned the company under the state’s control. However, he spoiled relations with Yakutia’s President Vyacheslav Shtyrov, which might be the reason of Nichiporuk’s resignation.
ALROSA does not disclose who might become its new head. President of ALROSA investment group Sergei Vybornov is one of the most probable candidates.
Relations between current and former presidents of the company (Shtyrov headed ALROSA before becoming Yakutia’s president) did not go well from the very beginning, ever since Nichiporuk came to the company two years ago.
The Ministry of Finance (Minister Alexei Kudrin heads ALROSA’s supervisory board) said that Nichiporuk’s resignation has not been officially confirmed yet. The board will decide upon it on Wednesday.
