Airline Got Bill for A-310 Passengers
Municipal court of Ob (town in Novosibirsk region) yesterday held preliminary hearings of lawsuit to S7 Airlines (former Sibir) from Konstantin and Lyubov Slastiny. The family lost two relatives in the catastrophe of A-310 aircraft in Irkutsk in July 2006, and is now demanding 20 million rubles of compensation. S7 hopes to reach the conciliation of parties.
Ob court held preliminary hearings of Slastiny family’s lawsuit against S7 airlines. Konstantin Slastin lost his wife Vera and daughter Irina in A-310 aircraft crush in Irkutsk airport in July 2006. The family now wants to receive 20 million rubles of compensation for moral ($300,000 for each victim) and material damage.
Lyubov Slastina said she will not agree to compensation of less than 20 million rubles. She said that before her family filed the lawsuit, S7 had offered 300,000 rubles for moral damages, and did not make any more attempts to contact the family.
The next hearing is scheduled for February 27. Lawyers of crush victims’ relatives directed most civil lawsuits (over 200) to the court of New York, the legal address of Airbus Leasing company, the actual owner of the A-310 aircraft.
