Panasonic Back to Russia’s Chains
The conflict of Russia’s six major electronic retailers with Panasonic has neared the end. Four of six companies – Eldorado, M.Video, Tekhnosila and Mir - fully resumed the purchase of Panasonic devices. In return, Panasonic promised to revise the supplying procedures for Russia and shift to direct deliveries in the next move.
Four of six retailers that imposed boycott on Panasonic early December – Eldorado, M.Video, Tekhnosila and Mir – had resumed purchasing the company’s product by January, spokesman of Panasonic said yesterday.

Another retailer involved in the clashes, Svyaznoy, has promised to recommence Panasonic’s deliveries in the near time. Euroset, however, has resumed only supplies of Panasonic’s photo devices, said Euroset CEO Yevgeny Chichvarkin.

In December, six biggest electronic retailers of Russia closed their chains for Panasonic, having accused it of dumping and import via the agents sticking to illegal methods of supplies. The analysts attributed the retailers’ boycott to the preferential terms granted by Panasonic to Media Markt chain store of Germany, which set the low prices as a result of such special treatment. The companies have never confirmed this explanation officially.
