Russian Giant to Fight McCline
Jameel McCline of the United States will be the next heavyweight to challenge the WBA champ title of Nikolay Valuev of Russia. The fight has been slated for January 20, Basel, Switzerland.
WBA heavyweight champ Nikolay Valuev of Russia will defend the title against American Jameel McCline, spokesmen of the latter confirmed the information first voiced by Sauerland Event, which is Valuev’s promoter.
The match of Valuev-McCline will be a real event, as this battle of two giants will be the most heavyweight in all history of boxing. The surprising physical condition of unbeaten Russian is known worldwide. At 213cm and about 150kg, Valuev is the tallest and heaviest champ among boxers.
The choice of McCline looks quite logical. The American with his 198cm and 125kg is neither short nor thin and Value will fight someone close to his size at last. Besides, the total of two boxers is an impressive record - 411cm and 275kg.
For McCline, however, the years of the best form are over already, so Valuev is the absolute favorite of forthcoming event. But his next challenger gives rise to intrigue. It is Ruslan Chagaev from Uzbekistan, who is more than a head shorter than the Russian but is famous for original manner of fighting.
