Okruashvili to Conduct Military Exercise Overseas
Georgia’s President Mikhail Saakashvili officially explained resignation of his most anti-Russian minister, Irakly Okruashvili. Saakashvili said Okruashvili vacated the office of defense minister and economy minister to master the military art overseas. The former minister didn’t refute arguments of his president but promised to come back to fight for the territorial integrity of Georgia.
Yesterday, Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili officially commented on the cabinet upheaval happened a fortnight ago, having clarified at last the flash-like movement of his close mate Irakly Okruashvili from one government’s office to another.

By order of president, Okruashvili vacated the office of Defense Minister two weeks ago to take over economy of the country. Past Friday, however, Okruashvili finally checked out from the cabinet of Georgia.

No official comments followed, and Tbilisi was soon awash with rumors. Okruashvili was said to have revolted against the political boss and joined the opposition. To stop rumors, Saakashvili and Okruashvili faced the reporters Monday.

As it turned out, the root cause of all recent resignations of the former minister is his aspiration for self-perfection. Orkuasvhili will go abroad to continue studies in one of the military academies there, Saakashvili explained to reporters yesterday.
