Russians and Chinese – Brothers for One Year
// Businessmen and politicians held fruitful banquets in Beijing and Shanghai
Russian businessmen, governors, and ministers attended XIV International business conference organized by RosBusinessConsulting (RBC) agency last week in Shanghai and III Russia-China investment forum organized by Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Beijing. The delegates supported the statement that Russians and Chinese are brothers, if not forever, at least for one year. They were especially successful in deals for buying Rolex-like watch sold by Chinese at every corner.
RBC Director General Yuri Rovensky met Russian businessmen, governors, and ministers in Shanghai airport. RBC’s XIV International business conference began with the concert of a popular Russian band. The limelight of the second day was given to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov’s report on the events held during the year of Russia in China. Zhukov insisted that China-Russia sales turnover should double and reach around $60 billion by 2010.
Next morning, the delegates set off for Beijing to attend the reception honoring III Russia-China investment forum organized by Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade. Minister German Gref had dinner with Chechnya President Alu Alkhanov, governors of Russia’s regions, and major Chinese businessmen led by Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Silai. The dinner, which was actually a closed conference, concerned possible investment.
Minister Gref reminded the delegates that the year of Russia in China is almost over, and the year of China in Russia is about to begin. After the reception, RBC delegates returned to Shanghai to spend the conference’s last day on shopping, the task all of them successfully accomplished.
