Russian March to Have Christmas Tree
Russian March arrangers announced yesterday the intention to hold a new mass rally of nationalists in Moscow December 21, the birthday of former Soviet Union leader Joseph Stalin. Today’s concern of the nationalists is to get the sanction of city’s authorities for it.
On Tuesday, arrangers of the Russian March of November 4 announced the desire to stage another rally. Their intention is to mark the birthday of Generalissimo Joseph Stalin December 21 by a march of many thousand people on Tverskaya Street, Moscow.

Another idea of arrangers is to lease the Kremlin Palace. “There will be a real Russian Christmas Tree with the eight-point star (the Star of Bethlehem, or the Star of the Blessed Virgin, one of the symbols of Orthodoxy taken by nationalists),” said Nikolay Kuryanovich, deputy of the State Duma and one of the Russian March arrangers.

The arrangers of the new march will endeavor to get the official sanction of the Moscow City Hall for the demonstration of at least 5,000. “We want to restore the rights that the police rudely violated November 4,” said Alexander Belov, leader of the Movement against Illegal Immigration.

The Russian March of November 4 was held in violation of the ban of Moscow authorities. The police detained over 500 that day.

As to the forthcoming event, it will be held even with no sanction of Moscow bureaucrats. “It is necessary to strain the authorities,” Kuryanovich made clear.
