More likely than not, quite a lot of agreements reached by Israeli PM Ehud Olmert in Moscow will remain in the shadow.

The Tour Pleasing in Every Way
Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert arrived in Moscow yesterday on an official visit of three days. For Olmert, it is the first trip to Russia in capacity of the PM. The negotiations will bear fruit, mass media of Israel predicted before the start of the visit.
The Russian visit of Ehud Olmert will be successful, mass media of Israel reported even before the actual beginning of the tour during which their PM will meet Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Some of reporters came up with another achievement yesterday. They said Moscow had informed Israel about toughening control over the armaments export so that the weapons couldn’t be passed to some third countries.

The observers are more skeptical, explaining this move of Russia by intention to exclude from negotiations the export of weapons to Syria. Even though Ehud Olmert is likely to speak about deliveries of Russian weapons to the Middle East, he won’t sharpen the problem or shed light on the reached agreements. Moscow, the observers speculate, has agreed to cooperate with Israel provided no data on sensitive issues of the Arab world will ever leak to the mass media.

For Russia and Israel, discussing Iran is a matter of tradition already and the parties won’t skip this problem this time. Another subject always raised at their get-togethers is resolving the conflict of Israel and Palestine.

Moreover, quite a portion of the tour will be dedicated to celebrating the 15-year anniversary of reviving the diplomatic relations of Russia and Israel and Ehud Olmert is expected to take part in festivities.
