PSA Peugeot Citroen to Construct Plant in Russia
The RF Economic Development and Trade Ministry has forwarded for consideration to Industry and Energy Ministry and Federal Customs Service the draft investment agreement with French carmaker, PSA Peugeot Citroen. The document that provides for constructing an automobile plant in Russia is expected to be agreed on in September.
The sources familiar with the situation say Russia’s facility of Peugeot Citroen has the project capacity of some 60,000 cars a year (Peugeot 307 and Citroen C4). The launch of big unit assembly is slated for 2008; the components will be delivered from plants in France and Argentina.
