Potanin Puts Son on Champ Feet
A student Ivan Potanin won two gold medals at the 4th Aquabike Championship of Russia held past Sunday in Krylatskoe Olympic Rowing Channel, Moscow. In Russia, the mastermind and encourager of this swim and bike event is Vladimir Potanin, owner of Interros.
The crowd at large was shivering with cold in time of the 4th Aquabike Championship of Russia held in Krylatskoe past Sunday. But Potanin’s guests were shown to their seats, given soft traveling rugs and offered mineral water, energy drinks and chips. Serving no alcohol was a matter of policy in Krylatskoe.
“It’s yet unlear, what does more harm vodka or chips,” said Miroslav Melnik, secretary of the Journalists Union of Russia.
Dressed in Potanin’s Team T-shirts, all the family of Potanin backed up Ivan. Only the world champ in aquabike, Anastasia Potanina, violated the family’s dress code. Anastasia was wearing a Bosco Olympic suit and was on crutches, raising concern about her participation in forthcoming world championships.
Ivan Potanin was the first in Ski Division parallel slalom, the silver medal went to David Jalogonia and Sergey Zhirov won the bronze medal. Chief of the State Sports Committee Vyacheslav Fetisov climbed the stage to present medals and traditional bottles of champagne. Jalogonia opened the bottle and washed Potanin. Not to remain owing, Potanin shook the bottle, but for some reason unknown, the foam missed the silver winner and bathed Fetisov.
The wet through Fetisov felt apparently ill at ease. The bureaucrat prevailed over the sportsman in the end, and Fetisov proceeded to the speech. “Thank you to all, who have come,” the sports chief said to begin with. “I hope with such activity of sponsors,” Fetisov pointed to Gazprom flags, “aquabike will advance and children and youth will soon go in for it.”
