The Holiday for People
The celebration of 60-year anniversary of LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky proved a real breakthrough. Timed to the party’s Congress, the event was staged in the Kremlin, which proved a good scene for Zhirinovsky to unmask Russia’s key enemy, the Great Britain.
Vladimir Zhirinovsky vowed past fall he would celebrate his 60-year anniversary “in the heart of the Motherland, in the Kremlin” and by a big Congress of the party, of course. And he proved as good as his word.
Even his arrival was pompous yesterday. Zhirinovsky drove to the main entrance of the Kremlin Palace in ZIL cabriolet usually used by defense minister to take the salute in time of the WW2 Victory Parades. The cabriolet was accompanied by BMW.
The anniversary of LDPR leader is “the holiday for people,” said State Duma’s deputy Oleg Malyshkin, who stood for Zhirinovsky at the previous presidential election, in an effort to justify the scale of festivities.
Contrary to the general practice, the Congress opened not by the hymn of LDPR but by the anthem of Russia. Once the anthem was over, Alexander Kosopkin, president’s envoy to the State Duma’s, stepped in to read the greetings address of Vladimir Putin.
The political report of Zhirinovsky, “Other View of the History”, lasted for two hours. The stunning achievement of the masterpiece is that the number one enemy of Russia has been finally determined. It is the Great Britain. In Zhirinovsky’s opinion, exactly that country has always been “the key controller of all anti-Russian actions,” starting from the Crimea war and up to restructuring and GKChP attempted takeover.
Zhirinovsky said he hates Moscow-London route also because Russia’s tycoons tend to escape to the Great Britain. “Berezovsky, Zakaev, Abramovich, Chelsea are there. Russian Economic Forum is there as well. Deciding where to invest our money, showing we are the Papuans and able to grasp nothing.” According to Zhirinovsky, it won’t be difficult to determine the Fifth Column today. Who is often in London is a miniature Lenin, he said.
