Capable of Teleportation
Grigory Grabovoy, psychic and sect leader notorious for the promise to recall from the grave Beslan children, was detained in Moscow Thursday night. The prosecutors blame fair swindle on him, while the followers believe he is “capable of teleportation” and may “disappear from the cell any time.”
“You should realize you’ve been forced to do the dirty work,” Grabovoy told policemen in time of detention. The sect leader and three dozen followers were arrested in Cosmos Hotel, where Grabovoy was holding a seminar. “I forgive you. I see you are good men. I will be president of Russia soon and you will get promotion,” the spiritualist made another promise.
Investigators insist Grabovy was taking money against “the knowingly impossible promise to arise from the dead.” Unlike prosecutors that spotted actus reus in Grabovoy’s activities only from the second attempt, Komsomolskaya Pravda’s reporter, Vladimir Vorsobin, carried out his inquiry long ago.
In the fall of 2005, the journalist asked Grabovoy to bring back his allegedly deceased stepbrother, who has never lived in reality. Vorsobin paid 31,000 rubles to learn that his brother has uprisen and is happy somewhere in the Southern Hemisphere. Meeting him was easy. For this purpose, the journalist was told to study Grabovoy’s doctrine and buy his books but went to the prosecutors instead.
The criminal action was brought in only March 20, i.e. in four months after Vorsobin’s visit to enforcement bodies. There are other claimants apart from Vorsobin, prosecutor Igor Pavlov made clear, specifying the criminal group included from 10 to 15 people.
