Helsinki Group to Challenge Spying Bonds
Seeking good standing protection, head of Moscow Helsinki Group, Lyudmila Alekseeva vowed Monday to go to Moscow Arbitration against three TV leaders of Russia – Pervy TV Channel, Rossia TV Channel and NTV. The cause of the claim is “The Spies” film by Arkady Mamontov, which Rossia broadcasted January 22, and the scandal’s interpretation by other TV channels. In the court, she will defend not only herself, by rather all non-government organizations, which are pressurized by authorities, Alekseeva emphasized.
“I’ve consulted with many experts and decided to file a claim to the court re: damage to good standing,” Alekseeva said yesterday, adding a few famous lawyers are ready to stand for her. “I would like to point out we will be speaking not only about my private case. We will be defending all non-government organizations pressurized by authorities.”

The cause of the claim is “The Spies” film by Arkady Mamontov. With good reference to the Federal Security Service of Russia, Mamontov showed four agents of British intelligence working in the U.S. embassy in Moscow. Of those four, one spy was said to be tied to Russia’s non-government organizations, including Moscow Helsinki Group and Eurasia Fund.
