Kabardino-Balkarian Militants Suffer Losses
The probe into the October 13 attack on the Kabardino-Balkarian capital is still underway in Nalchik. One more perpetrator was killed and four were arrested yesterday. A major operation to detain members of the bandit underground was held in the city.
Early yesterday morning, the city foot patrol spotted three suspicions men on the street who started gun-machining at the policemen. The police responded killing one militant. Two other criminals escaped.

A special operation to detain militants and their accomplices was undertaken in the city’s district of Iskozh, the whole area was cordoned off. Yet, it brought no results, as informed sources of Kommersant reported. Separately, more modest activities in other city districts were a success: two more participants of the attack were arrested, sources of Kommersant say. One of the detainees admitted that he had received 50,000 rubles (some $2,000) for the part in the slaughter. The police note that many of those who agreed to help in the attack did it for exclusively money reasons, some of them being unaware of what exacting they were to do.
