Transaero Choses Next Generation
// Air Company will lease six Boeings
As Kommersant found out, air companies Transaero and Pegasus Aviation Finance Company (USA) signed final agreement about leasing six new Boeings 737-800 Next Generation. The lease term is starting the next year. General Director of Transaero Olga Pleshakova said that the company got unprecedented discounts and that helped to seal the deal.
Aviation Company Transaero is specializing on charter as well as regular flights. In 2004 the company ticketed 1.3 million passengers. For 2004 the revenue reached 7.5 billion rubles with net profit 116.7 million. Transaero has 15 aircrafts total.
General Director of Transaero Olga Pleshakova told Kommersant yesterday that in August her company and Pegasus Aviation Finance signed a final leasing agreement for six new passenger Boeing 737-800 Next Generation. The plane can carry 162 people on board. The negotiations were conducted for two years. The deal was made for operational leasing with 7 year term. In July of 2006 the first aircraft will be delivered to Transaero and rest of them will follow later.
The total amount of the deal was not revealed. However, the lease payment for this type of aircraft can be anywhere from $280 to $400 thousand a month. The catalog price of six Boeings 737-800 is about $400 million or $67 million per plane. “These aircrafts were not cheap. However, Boeing gave us unprecedented price,” Pelashakova said.
