// The military production of VgTZ will go to Most
Deal
As Kommersant found out, Most Group is finishing negotiation with Industrial Investors Group about the purchase of Volgograd Machine building Company VgTZ (VMK), which is part of Agromashholding. The company produces and repairs BMD-- the armored personnel carriers for airborne troops. This way, Most, which already owns Kurganmash plant (producer of armored personnel carriers for infantry –BMP), getting itself rid off the competitor in the field of design for new light armored tank. Only Arzamass Machine Plant, which is part of Ruspromavto, remains as the only Most's competitor. According to Kommersant information, holding is not planning to part with the plant. On the other hand, Most is planning to continue to acquisition of defense assets.
Mikhail Bolotin, owner of Most, has a control over several solid assets among the machine building plants. Bolotin started the negotiations with Industrial Investors of Sergey Generalov about the purchase of Agromashholding this summer. Yesterday, the sources in Industrial Investors and Bolotin himself confirmed to Kommersant the fact of negotiations for VMK. However, both sides refused to discuss the details of the VMK deal and fate of the rest Agromashholding.
VMK produces and repairs armored personnel carriers for airborne troops (BMD) and special equipment on its base. The state defense orders provide practically 100 percent all work.
After Bolotin will finish the deal with Industrial Investors, there would be only one company left, which separates him from having monopoly in the market – Arzamass Machine Plant (AMP),a part of Ruspromauto belonging to Oleg Deripaska. It is possible that Most soon will start negotiation about the purchase of AMP. Although, Ruspromauto representatives told Kommersant that they have no plans to part with the plant.
In the mean time Bolotin, after the acquisition of Kurganmash and VMK, gets more and more involved into the defense sector. According to Kommersant information, Mikhail Bolotin is already starting a dialog with Russian Defense Ministry to coordinate their plans for defense equipment production.
