Bush Senior Goes to Kremlin Again
George Bush Senior visited Russia’s Kremlin last week, first time after he left the office of the US president. The nostalgic tour was timed to the sitting of the DaimlerChrysler’s Consulting Council. In Kremlin, Bush appeared obviously happy to meet entrepreneur Alexander Shustorovich.
The bosses of German DaimlerChrysler AG picked out Moscow to host the sitting of the company’s Consulting Committee this year. The business event ended by a social function in the Kremlin banquet hall, where Gerhard Hilgert, head of the Russia’s office of DaimlerChrysler AG, was meeting the guests. Hilgert had already welcomed VTB President Andrey Kostin, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller, head of Russia’s presidential administration Dmitry Medvedev, former foreign minister of Russia Andrey Kozyrev with his wife Elena (who was the only lady wearing an evening dress), ballet dancer Anastasia Volochkova accompanied by entrepreneur Igor Vdovin, dress designer Valentin Yudashkin with his wife Marina, when George Bush Senior came in.

Vyachslav Fetisov, head of Russia’s Physical Culture and Sport Agency, who personally met Bush for the first time, held out his business card. Bush accurately put it in the wallet, in which the sharp-sighted Russians spotted an American Express card. At that moment, Bush saw Russia’s businessman Alexander Shustorovich, whom, it turned out, he had known for long.

The dinner was announced half an hour later. Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref appeared right in time for it.
