CSKA Moscow Bosses Match with Auxerre
CSKA Moscow won 4:0 April 7, 2005, having beaten French Auxerre during the UEFA Cup quarter final soccer match at the Lokomotive stadium, Moscow.
The Russians bossed the play from the very start with the goals from Chidi Odiah (with the held of Mathis), Sergey Ignashevich, Vagner Love and Rolan Gusev.

Yury Zhirkov was a particular menace on the 21 minute. He raced through two full-backs with the French failed to clear the ball and Odiah was able to deliver the first goal, having escaped Cool, with the help of Mathis. Other goals followed.

The return game has been slated for next Thursday, but even now it is clear that Russian club has paved the way to the simi-finals, first time since 1998. In the semi-finals, CSKA will face the winner of the match between Parma (Italy)–Austria (Austria).
