KamAZ Overtakes
Russian truck foremost KamAZ was the market leader last week with the company’s capitalization up nearly 19 percent. The stocks have climbed almost 30 percent over the fortnight.
Generally, the low-liquid stocks have been recently gaining at least 10 percent each day, and in most cases, the growth couldn’t be attributed to the news back-up of the company. The 16-percent annual increase in revenues unveiled early last week was rather a bait for unsophisticated investors, while the stocks shortage on the open market has added to momentum. Anyway, early last week the stocks were sometimes up 40 percent on MICEX, contrary to RTS, where their growth was much more moderate.
Optimistic attitude of investors towards one of the few companies of automobile market could have resulted from the favorable market opportunities. With the investment rating assigned to Russia, foreign investors appear hungry for the second-tier stocks, and first of all, for the stocks of long promoted but market-lagged companies.
