Georgian Diaspora to Be Counted
The Movement Against Illegal Migration announced yesterday it will raid places where the Georgians crowd in Moscow. At the same time, some of web-sites dedicated to the Georgians in Russia have been addressed for immediate evacuation because of direct threat to the lives and health of the Georgians here. In the Union of Georgians in Russia, they apprehend repletion of anti-Georgian campaign of the fall of 2006.
A few web-sites dedicated to the Georgians in Russia received yesterday an anonymous appeal to Georgian Diaspora. The document calls for immediate evacuation from the country, specifying that Russia uses the dirtiest methods of information war, even the liberal mass media publish the dirty lie. The Russians are very cross with the Georgians and their rage will increase when they learn about big casualties in manpower and equipment, the appeal says.
Alexander Belov, leader of Movement Against Illegal Migration, announced yesterday he arranges a raid in Moscow, aiming at the places where the Georgians tend to crowd. The raid is of peaceful nature, Belov assured. They will first inspect those places with video cameras, posing questions to neighbors, and then go to enforcement bodies should the collected data appear suspicious.
Now, they are drawing up the lists of flats, where the Georgians illegally reside and the lists of places, where the Georgian criminal bosses tend to meet, Belov said.
Meanwhile, Russia’s authorities pledge there are no reasons for fears yet. President Medvedev, for instance, declared that all residents that legally stay in the Russian Federation shouldn’t face any oppression and may stay in the country under the agreements of Russia with the countries of their origin.
“We have no information about oppressing the Georgians in Russia, but we apprehend the recurrence of anti-Georgian campaign,” said Igor Gvritishvili, deputy briefer of the Union of Georgians in Russia. “We are very agitated about the information that 350 citizens of Russia are allegedly prevented from leaving Tbilisi. We count on wisdom of our countries’ authorities.”
