FSB’s Cash Allowance to Step Up 25 Percent
The cash allowance for career officers of Federal Security Service (Russia’s abbreviation is FSB) will increase by nearly a fourth in 2007, President Vladimir Putin told the annual meeting of FSB Board. The growth exceeds the country’s average increase in salaries by more than two fold, Putin pointed out.
FSB costs of the budget stepped up 27 percent in 2006, Putin said, adding the 2007 budget sets forth similar growth. The costs for armaments to be acquired under the State Defense Order will go up 20 percent, while the capital construction spending is to jump 73 percent, the Mayak broadcaster reported.
When it comes to FSB, the efforts of investigating divisions should be targeted at the crimes of direct threat to the country’s security, the president emphasized. Investigators shouldn’t be carried away by the quantity indicators, generating them through insignificant crimes.
Former chief of FSB, Putin generally pays particular attention to this service. He attended five annual meetings of the FSB Board in the last six years.
