Cubans Saw Healthier Castro
Cuban TV showed Tuesday the meeting of Fidel Castro with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, AFP reported.
The ten-minute video clip was the first in three months with Fidel Castro involved. It was shot in Havana Monday, January 29. Castro appeared much healthier than at the previous video images.

The battle for his health was far from lost, Castro, 80, told Chavez during the meeting. That battle would never be lost, the Venezuelan leader responded.

On July 1, Fidel Castro underwent intestinal surgery and had to turn over power to his younger brother, Raul, giving rise to the rumors about the grave condition of his health. Official Cuba has always refuted such hearsay.

A close mate of Castro, Hugo Chavez often visits Fidel in the hospital. A video clip of past August, for instance, showed two leaders eating yogurts in the ward.
