Bad Weather, Bad-Tempered People Scare Aliens Away from Moscow
Of 60 most attractive cities worldwide, Moscow is the 48th, Global Market Insite said in the survey as quoted by Vedomosti newspaper. Moscow was the 26th in the last year’s rating of 30 cities.
Sydney is most attractive for foreigners, according to the survey. It is followed by London, while Paris is the last of the trio. St. Petersburg is rated the 40th.

The basic faults of Moscow are its disgusting weather and the most malicious sentiment of people, the respondents said. Russia’s capital was rated No. 52 in terms of the business attractiveness, sank to the 54th score in infrastructure development and was the 45th if measured by arrangement of leisure activities. At the same time, Moscow enjoyed the No. 8 score in terms of the world influence.

The evaluation of Moscow is hardly fair in many respects, analysts in the PR-agencies of Russia commented. Moscow is affected by negative image of Russia, reasoned Yuliana Slashcheva, president at Mikhailov & Partners. “The respondents rely on stereotypes, experience of acquaintances or on mass media data,” explained Mikhail Maslov, general director at Maslov-PR, adding that not only the reputation but also reality should improve here.
