Israel to Buy Smart Bombs from the U.S.
Israel is buying a big consignment of guided munitions, Jerusalem Post reported.
Overall, the Air Forces of Israel will get several thousands of JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munitions) bombs worth $100 million.
The JDAMs are free-fall air bombs equipped with guidance systems and aerodynamic sets of stabilizers and control vanes. The bombs of this type have the circular error probable of 10 meters and don’t react to jamming.
The flaw of JDAMs is its inability to hit moveable targets.
