Foreign Suspects Equal in Rights with the Russians
Russia’s Federation Council approved amendments to the Act on Holding the Suspects and Accused of Crimes in Detention, Interfax reported. Today’s practice is to separate the Russians from the aliens and persons of no citizenship.
Under the amendments approved by the Federation Council, the aliens, who have breached laws, will be held in detention cells together with the Russians.

Making equal in rights the suspected and accused foreigners, persons of no citizenship with similar category of Russia's residents is in line with the Constitution of the Russian Federation and federal laws, said Viktor Ozerov, chief of Defense and Security Committee.
