Salvador Gives Go-Ahead to Russia’s Entry to WTO
Salvador and Russia have completed bilateral negotiations on Russia’s admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO), the Interfax news agency reported.
Moscow sealed the go-ahead protocol with Chisinau, Moldova, December 27. The United States finally backed up Russia in this undertaking in November, prompting Moscow to announce that it could become a full member of the WTO already in the second half of this year. Russia has been attempting to join the WTO since 1994.
But Georgia that recalled its signature from the WTO bilateral agreement with Russia in July 2006 is still the key hurdle for Moscow en route to the WTO. Tbilisi requirement is making legal two border customs points in Abkhazia and South Ossetia self-proclaimed republics of Georgia.
