BBC Learns about Another Attempt to Kill Litvinenko
Former FSB agent Alexander Litvinenko might have been poisoned twice, as the killers failed to achieve the result at one go, according to the BBC documentary to be shown at night of Jan. 22, Reuters reported.
The “How to Poison a Spy” documentary of BBC is a report on the poisoning of ex-FSB spy Alexander Litvinenko. The film says that the first attempt could have been staged October 16 in Itsu bar.
The conclusion of the film makers roots in the fact that the traces of radioactive polonium-210 were discovered in the bar’s section different from the one, where Litvinenko had met Italian secret service expert Mario Scaramella. As the first attempt proved abortive, the killer, or killers, tried again November 1 in the bar of Millennium Hotel.
Litvinenko died in a London hospital on November 23 after being poisoned with radioactive polonium-210. British detectives insist it was a murder.
Among witnesses are many Russians, with whom Litvinenko met on the day before poisoning. The key suspect is also some Russian going by the name of Vladislav, The Times reported. The supposed killer was photographed by the outer surveillance cameras of Millennium Hotel. The police refused to comment on the data.
